Every one feels like they know what the next generation needs
They know what’s wrong with them
They know their misdeeds
They know how the government should proceed
They know how their neighbors’ lives would be better if they only took heed
Everybody knows everything about everyone else
But they can’t find their own way out of their own mess
I get caught in this battle knowing what you should do
When I stay stuck here in my own poo.
Not saying the advice is all bad
But misguided?
Definitely!
It’s a wonder we aren’t all just brawling in the streets.
Perhaps it would help if we listened more before we tried to help
Sometimes that’s all that’s needed to make a big difference.
We should listen to hear and listen to learn
Because all the ‘things’ we think we know may not even be of concern.
I admit this is a harder task for me
Since it’s so easy to spin my own stories.
Who will benefit if we continue so to be?
I think a better way should be found to help each other and maintain the peace.
